Task one-
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Task two-
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
To do this task i created a prezi to describe the combination between our music video and ancillary products.
Task three-
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
The following is the Vox-pop directors commentary for our music video which we created. We speak about what we completed our music video, what we added and changed
Task four-
How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
I created an xtranormal to complete task 4.

directors rough commentary script
>Peer reviews- comment on re-filming, making the star persona clearer, more (and more creative) angles and shots.
>Opinion on final product-acting on peer reviews, strong and in depth video, strong narrative, a good final product, which means better ancillary products
>adding of a fully fledged narrative

Directors commentary.
Today in lesson we did our directors commentary, I spoke
about the first minute of our film and explained what we have changed, liked and
why we had chosen to make the changes we had.
Todays Lesson
In todays lesson we have filmed ourselves evaluating different sections of our music video, we have took a minute each and analysed the video and spoke about any improvements we made on our video based on the feedback we received. We are now waiting for the footage to upload and we will edit it into our music video to help prove our points through footage.
Our Feedback really helped us when improving our video and we feel that our video has improved a lot from our rough cut because of this.

Evaluating Our Music Video
I am going to be talking about our music video in between the second and third minute. In this section the narrative shows us the female in the relationship very upset and angry at her lover. This is a very common convention of a pop music video and we have kept with this.
She expresses this by tearing up and throwing away a love letter which could show her throwing away their relationship and giving up hope. The lighting is very dark which ties in with the girls mood as she seems at a low point. The shots show that she is alone with no one around which expresses how lonely and lost she feels without her partner. Again we see the use of time as the girl looks at her watch after reading the note where he promised to meet her at five. We can see on the watch that he has stood her up which causes her to give up on the relationship.
In this part of the video we can see that we have acted on our feedback and added more footage of the girl and we have also broke up the video by adding more narrative to it rather than just lip syncing.

Evaluation Question 3 Script
I am going to talk about how we acted upon the feedback we received from our peer reviews to improve our video.
Our peer reviews suggested that we should include more of chloe. We acted upon this by taking another nights filming, in which we focused on getting a lot of narrative footage to convey to the audience that chloe and tom (our star persona).
As another comment we received was to include more narrative, we included a lot of this footage in our video in a logical order. Not only did this reduce the amount of lip-syncing (another peer review suggestion) but it also made our video a lot more interesting to watch as we now have a story of a relationship, a common convention of pop and rock music videos. As our rough cut was almost entirely lip-syncing with mainly mid and long shots, when filming our narrative we tried to include a greater variety of shot types and angles. An example of this is the low angle long shot of chloe holding reading a letter, followed by an over the shoulder close up of the letter. We hope that by increasing the variety of shot types and angles our video is less repetitive and should keep the audiences attention. We also spent a lot of time experimenting with cross fading our cuts rather than just using jump cuts, to make the narrative an important part of the video rather than just to fill time.
I filmed this script being read in one take. It is going to be used as part interview and part voice over including clips of our music video, as a medium of communicating the feedback received and how we used this feedback to improve our video, with brief explanations of how this was achieved.

Planning for evaluation task 3
What have you learned from audience feed back?
for this task we need to create a directors commentary, which includes clips from the music video, and ancillary tasks as well as vox pop presentations of audience feedback. we have recieved feedback through vox pops of our rough cut, and peer reviews. we have acted on our peer reviews and rough cut feedback. in our next lesson (5/12/12) we will record a vox pop of our own evaluation and reviewing the changes we have made throughout the production process.
Comments we have recieved:
include more of chloe
more narrative
different shot types and angles
not as much lip-syncing
